Breastfeeding Basics for Expectant Parents
Join us for a fun, interactive workshop designed to demystify the breastfeeding experience. This 3 hour class provides insights, information and practical skills to help you navigate the early weeks of breastfeeding. Topics covered include: How to establish an abundant supply of milk; how to achieve a comfortable latch; normal challenges and what to do about them; when and where to go for help; community resources. We will also use dolls and pillows to practice nursing positions, and demonstrate how dads/partners can support moms. The small class size ensures ample time for questions, and provides an opportunity to meet other expectant parents. Plan on coming whether you are a first-time expectant parent, or an experienced parent who wants to refresh their skills. We also welcome anyone who will be providing hands-on postpartum support to a new mother.
